The Johnson County Community Foundation is helping three local organizations with flood recovery clean up this spring. The community foundation made three grants totaling $7,500 last week to local community organizations supporting community efforts. Grants of $2,500 each were made to The Veterans Referral Center, Paintsville Little League, and Johnson County Cal Ripken.
“Being part of the community and understanding how to help our community is part of our mission,” said Daffiny Trimble, Johnson County Community Foundation Chair. “Our ultimate goal is to grow a substantial endowment fund that will allow us to perpetually help fund projects like these when needs are identified. It’s important that we know the needs of our community and have funds available to help.”
The Johnson County Community Foundation board members include Daffiny Trimble (Chair), Jerry Price (Vice-Chair), Connie Bayes (Treasurer), Tammy Barker (Secretary), Dewey Bocook, Doug Pugh, and Chris Slone.
The Johnson County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. Their mission is to support efforts that build long-term capacity towards improving the quality of life in Johnson County, Kentucky.
