The Jackson County Community Foundation (JCCF) recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Jackson County Development Association (JCDA) to help fund improvements to the Jack Gabbard Memorial Park.
Built in the 1980s, Jack Gabbard Memorial Park is located on Highway 290 in McKee, Kentucky. JCDA plans to improve the cleanliness, safety, and function of the park by renovating and repurposing its equipment. These renovations will help create an environment that is friendly to all ages, making the park a family-oriented space within the community.
“We are excited for this park renovation and eager to partner with other organizations to see these improvements completed. This project aligns with our Foundation’s mission to serve the Jackson County communities,” JCCF chair Rodney Chrisman said.
JCCF’s mission is to bring together community-minded people with the strong, abiding will to do good, acting upon our dreams and aspirations, to produce results. As an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, JCCF has granted over $125,000 for charitable causes to their local communities.
